Adeline Garcia 2026 wrap-up!

Anna Bean (Puyallup), a 2026 Adeline Garcia Awards honoree.

What a magical night! This year’s Adeline Garcia Community Service Awards Gala was one for the books. We’d like to thank all those who attended or contributed by supporting Seattle Indian Health Board programs and celebrating our honorees. We’d also like to thank the honorees themselves: Puyallup Tribal Councilmember Anna Bean, Jamestown S’Klallam Tribal Chair and CEO W. Ron Allen, and King County Councilmember Teresa Mosqueda. Muckleshoot Tribal Councilmember Donny Stevenson brought it all together that evening with the keynote speech.

We bid on gorgeous auction items, learned about the evolution of SIHB over the years, ate delicious traditional foods, and enjoyed the photobooth! Thank you all for filling this evening with joy and coming together for the love of Native people.

The community service awards highlight community leaders who are carrying on the legacy of Adeline Garcia. Adeline (Haida, Double Fin Killer Whale Clan) was a co-founding member of the American Indian Women’s Services League, president of the board at SIHB, and a lifelong advocate for Indigenous people of the region. This event is a testament to her memory and spotlights the community members following in her footsteps.
