There are two ways to learn about Indigenous-informed diabetes management at our International District clinic this fall!
You can sign up for our Diabetes Management Course Series for ongoing support starting Sept. 10, or attend a one-off Diabetes Management Workshop on Saturday, Sept. 19.
Both are open to SIHB relatives already in our system, 18+, and diagnosed with diabetes or pre-diabetes. In both the Series and the Workshop, we’ll go over:
🩺 Diabetes facts and risk management
🥕 Nutrition
👟 Strategies to boost your physical activity
Both the Series and Workshop come with a free meal from a Native chef and fresh produce to take home!
Both take place at the SIHB International District clinic at 611 12th Avenue South.
Should I sign up for the Series or the Workshop?
Here’s where you get to choose!
- Sign up for the Series if you’re committed to attending six sessions. You’ll meet every other Thursday, starting Sept. 10 through Nov. 19, from 9:15–11:30 a.m. Here you’ll get the support of learning with a consistent group over three months.
- Sign up for the Workshop if you’re looking for a one-off meeting. The Workshop happens Saturday, Sept. 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Workshop will have a facilitated group conversation about diabetes management and a free meal made with traditional ingredients by Chef Liiv of Liiv for Flavor.
