Positive changes are coming to our Elders Program! Read our latest news about it here.
We listened to the wisdom and needs our elders shared recently at their Elders' Council. Our response plan includes multiple steps. First, we are temporarily closing the Elders' Program for 1 month - during July only. We will reopen the Elders' Program on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 a special lunch at 12:00 pm. This will allow us to renovate the Elders' space to (a) maximize the floor area, (b) make the space more inviting and (c) be better suited for communal gatherings. All the details about other planned changes are in the news article. This webpage will be updated in August with an updated list of services.
Our Elders Program is open to American Indian and Alaska Native elders age 55 and older. The program provides a place for our elders to meet, socialize, and stay connected to their community. The weekly schedule offers:
- Arts & crafts, games, bingo and exercise (tai chi & swimming)
- Health education and screening
- Resource information and assistance
- Traditional Indian medicine referrals
