SIHB residents come from a variety of educational and cultural backgrounds, many of whom are American Indian or Alaska Native and represent tribes from all across North America. All share a common goal of helping American Indians and Alaska Natives achieve the highest possible degree of health and well-being.
Residency program graduates have pursued medical careers in rural medical facilities such as the White River Tribal Clinic in White River, Arizona. Others have returned home to their reservation to serve their community through work at their community tribal health clinic. Others still have gone on to work in urban environments such as the Seattle Indian Health Board in Seattle, Washington and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in Princeton, New Jersey.
